A new production of the classic Broadway musical, 42nd Street, with a cast of over 50, explodes onto the stage of the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
Based on the novel on the novel by Bradford Ropes and Busby Berkeley’s 1933 movie, 42nd Street is set in 1933 in the depths of the depression. Young dancer Peggy Sawyer comes to New York to audition for the new Broadway musical Pretty Lady. But when the leading lady breaks her ankle, Peggy may just have the opportunity to become that star she has always wanted to be…
With a score packed with such classics as We’re in The Money, Lullaby of Broadway, Shuffle Off to Buffalo, Dames, I Only Have Eyes for You and of course 42nd Street, Mark Bramble, co-author of the book and director of the 2001 Tony Award winning revival, returns to direct this new production.
