Now in its 14th year in London, Wicked at the Apollo Victoria theatre, one of the most popular West End musicals ever, is a bewitching, unmissable treat for the whole family.
The musical Wicked is based on Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, an alternative telling The Wizard of Oz. It’s the story of 2 improbable friends, Elphaba (later the Wicked Witch of the West) and Galinda (later Glinda the Good Witch) who meet at Sorcery School. They struggle through very different personalities and perspectives, become love rivals, both see through the crooked Wizards lies to ultimately fulfil their destiny.
With a sensational score by Grammy and Academy Award winner Stephen Schwartz, since opening on Broadway in 2003, Wicked has received over 90 international awards including two Olivier Audience Choice Awards in London.
From 22nd July, Nikki Bentley will take over the role of Elphaba, Helen Woolf will take over the role of Glinda and Alistair Brammer will take over the role of Fiyero.
